THE WORLD’S FIRST PERISTALTIC PUMPS WITH DIRECT PROFIBUS CONNECTION!!!

WMB PROFIBUS Plug Pumps

The same great cased pump performance, now with direct PROFIBUS connection.

Watson-Marlow Pumps recently introduced new versions of their 520, 620, and 720 peristaltic pump models featuring PROFIBUS connections.  Not only are these the first-ever peristaltic pumps to feature Direct PROFIBUS Connections, but they also have more features, more Data/Diagnostic sensors, Greater Intelligence, Superior Flexibility and Greater Ease of Use then any other PROFIBUS pumps. Watson-Marlow’s Profibus cased pumps are value-for-life products, with maintenance-free drives and a five-year warranty.  The tubing is the only consumable you need. Simple installation saves on CAPEX; smart control saves on OPEX.  This means that you can control and monitor the pumps better than ever before.  And in the unlikely event of a failure, you have more information, allowing you to diagnose the problem faster and reduce downtime and engineering costs.

Features:

  • No point-to-point wiring
  • Real-time, two-way communication
  • Available in IP31 and IP66 options
  • Smart control
  • Simple Installation
  • One GSD file for all pumps
  • No extra equipment required
  • More status information: Run/stop, Run hours, Actual speed, Set speed
  • More precision: 520Bp/520BpN-  2200:1, 620Bp/620BpN-  1650:1, and 720BpN-  3600:1
  • Three alarms: Leak detected, Guard open (620 and 720 only), and General alarm.
  • 11 extended diagnostics, including: Under voltage, Over current, Above or below set speed parameters, and Wrong speed.

Benefits:

No Point to Point wiring: Using PROFIBUS means there is no longer a need for point to point wiring.  Using PROFIBUS you only need one cable to the first pump than one cable from pump to pump, reducing materials and engineering costs.

One GSD file for all pumps: The 520, 620 and 720 PROFIBUS pumps run from the same GSD file (Generic Station Description). This means true process scaling, unplug and remove one pump and replace with another.

No extra equipment required: With direct connection into PROFIBUS networks there is no need for expensive equipment such as gateways or I/O converters saving the customer money and providing more information than ever before.

A simple 9 pin PROFIBUS connector: Connection to the network is simple and only requires a 9 pin PROFIBUS connector with two wires within the PROFIBUS cable feed into the connector.

Compared to Any Competing Pumps with PROFIBUS Connections, Watson Marlow’s PROFIBUS Cased Pumps Offer More Intelligence.

Nearly all of the competing pumps are fixed at one speed: 1.5 Mbits/sec. What does this mean? Many ProfiBus networks run at 1.5 Mbits/sec, as this offers reasonable distance at a reasonable speed.  However, some networks run more slowly to get greater network distances – or may run faster because of process needs. Watson-Marlow has allowed for this need for variability by ensuring that the range of Bp pumps can all run at any speed within the PROFIBUS speed range. Added to this, the customer need not worry about setting the pump to match his system’s speed. Bp pumps automatically detect the network speed and adjust themselves to match.
