New Flanged Manifold on Sandpiper G Series Pumps

Posted on by Sara Springer

Sandpiper® Pumps has made improvements to their G Series Pump flanged manifolds effective immediately.

Overview:

1”, 1½, & 2” Stainless SANDPIPER® S series and G series pump models will be available with fully cast-in Stainless Steel flanged manifolds.  The Stainless Threaded Flange and Welded Flange options will no longer be used.  Model numbers will be changed to reflect a Cast-in Universal Flange by using a ‘U’ for porting option instead of ‘R’ or ‘W’. Aluminum and Cast-Iron manifold options will not change.

Pumps and Parts Affected:

  • 1”, 1½”, & 2” Stainless S series and G series pump models with ‘R’ or ‘W’ port options.
    • Threaded Raised Face ‘R’ and Welded Raised Face ‘W’ option models will be obsoleted and replaced by a Cast-in Universal Flange model using ‘U’ for Porting Option.

Benefits of New Flanged Manifolds:

  • On stainless pumps, the flange will not have a threaded or welded joint exposed to the pumped fluid.
  • Universal cast flange construction will be offered at the same list price as threaded flanges, considerably less than a welded flange.

Interchangeability & Replacement:

  • On current S1F an G1F models the Threaded & Welded flanged models include a set of blocks to raise the pump and ensure the suction flange clears the mounting surface. The new cast-in flange manifold has taller feet so that riser blocks are not required. With the new manifold the distance from the mount surface to the suction and discharge port heights is .75in (19mm) lower.
  • Foot Mount Kit 475.305.000 can be purchased for S1F or G1F if there is need to raise ports to match the previous heights.
  • S15, G15, S20 & G20 cast-in flange models have identical port heights as the previous threaded and welded models.

The list price adder will be the same as the previous Threaded Flange adder. For more information about Sandpiper’s improved flanges for G-Series Pumps or to receive a quote, contact SPRINER PUMPS® today.
