Nickel Aluminum Bronze Outperforms Stainless Steel in Saltwater Applications. The wetted end parts for these centrifugal pumps are made from CDA958, which costs less than stainless steel and better resists the corrosion/erosion of saltwater. All of Ampco’s nickel aluminum bronze pumps (E, K and Z Series) have ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) type approval. Other Alloys are availible as well as stainless steel.
