Watson Marlow Breaking Ground for North American Facility

Posted on by Sara Springer

Thanks to a growing customer base, big improvements are being implemented by Watson Marlow this year, including breaking ground for multiple new manufacturing facilities. One of these sites is located in Devens Massachusetts, bringing production to a whole new level in North America.

Watson Marlow’s 25-acre plant site is massive and allows the manufacturer room for future expansion. The custom facility has over 150,000 square feet allotted for production. This site is one of three new locations Watson Marlow is developing, investing heavily in the company’s future. Other sites are being erected in the UK, one in Yorkshire and in Portsmouth.

The North American site will focus on the production of peristaltic pumps, Qdos pumps, pump heads 300/313 series OEM pump heads, high purity tubing, and BioPure fluid path components and assemblies.

When the new Massachusetts facility is completed, it will house multiple clean rooms, a warehouse area as well as offices. The location allows areas to be designated for specific uses so Watson Marlow can continue to provide the same superior quality to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical, and processing industries without cross-contamination. There is additional square footage set aside for expansion as the company grows.

By Mimicking their European facilities with a U.S.-based site, Watson Marlow has streamlined the supply chain for its North American customers. The manufacturer can now also ensure product continuity domestically. This also means quicker delivery time for American-based clients.

Watson Marlow anticipates no disruption of its European sites as the company expands through 2022.
