GEA’s LoTo (Lock Out/Tag Out) Devices Improve Safety in Workplace
There is never time for equipment malfunctioning. This can cause damage to products and systems or worse, endanger lives. GEA now offers its clients the Loto device to improve safety of work environments when using their valves.
What is a LoTo device? LoTo stands for Lock Out/Tag Out. In short, this innovative technology prevents the accidental, unintentional activation of a valve through locking it down at an energy source. It also provides users with clear labeling for further security.
LoTo Devices can be applied to the following GEA Valves:
Butterfly Valves:
- Locked pin fixture at stem preventing actuator from turning
- Lock valve in the open or closed position
- Applies to pneumatic, manual, or mix proof butterfly valves
Seat Valves:
- the disc lock is positioned on top of actuator then locked, preventing valve disc movement
- Prevents valve disc movement during pressure spikes
- Must remove control top to apply LoTo
- Applies to VARIVENT single-seat and D-Tec valves
- Air blocks within the airline are locked in place to prevent air actuation
- Air blocks can be used on most air connections
- DOES NOT protect against water hammer
Aseptic Valves:
- LoTo disc lock is positioned on top of actuator then locked, preventing movement of bellows
- Used on pneumatic and manual valves
- Prevents valve disc movement during pressure spikes
- Applies to Vesta valves
Mix Proof Valves:
- Prevents valve disc movement during pressure spikes
- Multiple Locks needed
- Can be used on most air connections
- DOES NOT protect against water hammer
Now your employees can confidently feel safe while commissioning or maintaining equipment while you have peace of mind knowing you have protected your workforce and operation with GEA’s Valve LoTo devices.
